Shoot For A's
Supporting Education
When we empower teachers with the tools to teach, we inspire the mentoring of minds for tomorrow's math and science challenges and opportunities.
Supporting Education
The Foundation of Shoot For A's
Research shows that youngsters who go on to pursue technical educations and careers begin that quest for knowledge in their earliest school years. Our goal is to provide direct support to the outstanding teachers who are nurturing young minds in the areas of math and science. No one company or individual can do this alone, but if we continue to pool our resources we can have a significant impact. By joining us at Shoot for A’s, you can help ensure that our local youngsters have a great foundation in math and science.

Each dollar raised will be put into a grant fund that can be accessed by math and science teachers of 6th, 7th and 8th graders within the school districts of Channahon, Minooka and Troy. Grant money requests can encompass class equipment and other learning tools, as well as field trips and other external curriculum enhancements.

For any business person within the extremely technical and challenging field of producing and supplying energy, everyone knows the value of having knowledgeable and skilled employees. What we are doing today is making an investment in the future of our communities and our businesses. By helping to improve math and science education locally, we are also helping to secure the knowledge base of our future workforce.

Your contribution made through the Three Rivers Education Partnership (TREP, a 501(c)(3) organization) is tax deductible and a receipt for your records will be provided following your contribution.

Highlights from Last Year's Event
The 3rd annual Shoot For A's event was held on June 6, 2009. With close to 200 registered shooters scoring in Trap Shooting and Sporting Clays, the whole field enjoyed a wonderful day. A special thanks goes out to the top-level sponsors of this year's event, helping raise nearly $56,000 that goes directly into the classrooms of the surrounding communities. The competition was spirited and all the teams are looking for the opportunity to compete again in next year's event, which will be held on June 5, 2010.

Beyond the shooting competition that featured prizes and trophies, attendees enjoyed complimentary food and refreshments, plus a raffle for valuable prizes. Make sure not to miss next year's event.
